What’s Happening in April Around Town?

  • East Coast She Crab Soup Classic: April 9

This event at the Virginia Beach oceanfront is free and open to the public. Check out what local chefs cook up as they compete for the “Best on the East Coast.” For more information, click here.

  • Modeling and Simulation World Conference: April 26-28

Visit the Virginia Beach Convention Center and check out what’s new with Mod&Sim technology. Talk with research scientists, software developers and IT professionals. Exhibits and demonstrations will run throughout the conference, which is free and open to the public. Register online for single or full conference passes.

  • URugby Sevens Tournament: April 29-May 1

Watch hundreds of rugby players compete in the second annual tournament at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, click here.

  • Treasures of the Earth Gem & Jewelry Show: April 29-May 1

The show, at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, will feature estate, classic and handcrafted jewelry. Also, bring your jewelry along for an appraisal by an expert. Admission is $5. For more information, click here.

  • Atlantic Coast Kite Festival: April 30

It’s time to go fly a kite in the 12th Annual Atlantic Coast Kite Festival between 16th and 18th streets at the oceanfront. Prizes will be awarded for best kite. Admission is free and homemade kites are welcome. For more information, click here.
